Killgerm endeavours to provide a full ID report within 14 working days because we know how important it is to your business to receive this information quickly. Samples can be sent to: Killgerm Identification, Wakefield Road, Ossett, West Yorkshire, WF5 9AJ.
Please ensure that your address and contact telephone number are clearly visible on the padded envelope (or other suitable packaging) when sending specimens for identification. Please submit specimens in crushproof, nonmetallic containers with securely sealed lids. Please ensure the specimen is dead before posting. Failure to carry out these simple precautions may result in a delay before the package is opened and dealt with.
The service is free of charge to existing Killgerm customers (subject to account status). The service is charged at £50 + VAT to non-customers.
The identification of spiders is not within our area of expertise. Please contact the Natural History Museum (www.nhm.ac.uk) for spider identifications.
Please note that large samples such as vacuum bag contents will be returned unchecked. Small samples of vacuum bag contents or contaminated produce can be inspected and must not exceed the 30ml volume of a screw-top sample tube.
Occasional catch-tray / glue board analysis of flying insects from electronic fly killers is chargeable at £75+VAT per tray / board or other large sample of insects e.g. more than the contents of a 30ml sample tube.
Please email the Technical Team below for further details or click HERE to download the Insect ID form.
Please ensure that you use the ID form, for clarity, when submitting samples for identification.
Please make every effort to submit intact insects as fragmented samples are very difficult to identify.
